Port Blair, Feb 17: A fire accident took place at Kalapahad near Shiv Mandir under Mayabunder Tehsil on Sunday the 2nd February, 2020, at around 3.00 pm.
In the said incident the entire katcha house of Mr. Sudehswar Ram, S/o Late Bandhan Ram, R/o Kalapahad was completely gutted.
Mr. Sudehswar Ram was living with his mentally challenged wife and three children in the Katcha house in Kalaphad village on the way to Diglipur Tehsil (NH4), North Andaman.
It was reported that all the household items including 1.2 Tonne rice grains were completely burnt in the said fire incident.
Mr. Sudehswar Ram, is basically a farmer and also works as labourer as and when he gets daily rated work and thereby he is looking after his family.
After this fire accident, Mr. Ram and his family members were struggling for survival for want of house and financial assistance and by seeing this Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram Mayabunder came forward with generous donors and charitable and social organizations to help the family, in distress.
Many generous donors extended their support for Mr. Sudehswar Ram both with cash and kind through Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram, Mayabunder. The donors have contributed total amount of Rs. 43,601/- which includes an amount of Rs. 25,600/- contribution through public by the Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram Mayabunder.
The Secretary of Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram Mayabunder has expressed heartfelt gratitude to all the generous donors and charitable & social organizations namely ABVP College Unit Mayabunder, MG Govt. College Mayabunder, Lord Krishna Temple Committee Dairyfarm, Port Blair and Ranchi Association, Mayabunder who have come forward to help the fire Victim Mr. Sudeshwar Ram.
