Port Blair, Feb 04: Troops Get together for the Coast Guard personnel and families was conducted at Regional Headquarters (A&N) premises on 03 Feb 20 as part of ongoing 44th Raising Day celebrations of Indian Coast Guard. Inspector General M V Pathak, TM, the Commander Coast Guard Region (A&N) was the Chief Guest and Mrs Mohita Pathak, President Tatrakshika was the guest of honour of the function. The event comprised cultural program and prize distribution ceremony for the award winning Coast Guard units and meritorious children. The cultural program was performed by Coast Guard personnel and their families under the aegis of Coast Guard Wives Welfare Association.
In order to promote the talent in the Isles, local artists were given opportunity to perform during the event. DNA Dance group of A & N enthralled the gathering with their energetic stage performance and Singer Avinash with his band entertained the audience with musical performance.
During the event, the Chief Guest and President Tatrakshika conferred prizes and certificates to the meritorious children of CG personnel for their outstanding academic performance. A total of 12 children of class VIII – XII were honoured and encouraged to pursue academic excellence. The Commander Cost Guard (A & N) presented rolling trophies to best performing Coast Guard units and personnel. Coast Guard Ship Aruna Asaf Ali was adjudged the best performing frontline unit for the year 2019.
The Commander Coast Guard Region (A&N) congratulated the winners and encouraged all Coast Guard personnel, families and children to strive for excellence. The Commander expressed satisfaction on overall performance emphasising upon force level accretions and CG infrastructure development in the Region.
