Baratang, Dec 08: The Kala Kendra Society of Department of Art and Culture Department organised a colourful entertainment programme at Baratang Island of Middle Andaman on Saturday evening.
The ZillaParishad member of Baratang Island and Up-adhyaksh of North and Middle Andaman ZillaParishad, Mr. R Alager Swami had earlier requested the Art and Culture Department to organise such event at Baratang Island and had consistently persuaded the matter.
The programme was inaugurated by the Up-adhyaksh of North and Middle Andaman ZillaParishad, Mr. R Alager Swami, in presence of Pradhan of NilamburPanchayat Mr. Roy George, Mr. DevendraPathak, SHO, PS Baratang, Mrs. Usha Kumar Paladugu the Vice Principal of GSSS Oralkatcha and the CMO of PS Baratang. The event was hosted by Ms. Amrita Singh of Kala Kendra.
Students of GSSS Oralkatcha presented one patriotic Dance and folk dances of ChotaNagpuri and Nicobari Community.
During the programme special attraction was the singers of Melody Stars, who presented new and old Bollywood songs for the crowd. Songs by Mr. Wazim, Mr. Rajesh Ghosh, Mrs. ArunimaGhosh and others were enjoyed by huge gathering.
The Up-adhyaksh of North and Middle Andaman ZillaParishad, Mr. R Alager Swami expressed gratitude towards the Administration, Department of Art and Culture and Kala Kendra to bring such job for the Baratang Island.
