Port Blair, Dec 06: People who are rushing from far flung areas of Middle Andaman to STARS Ticketing Counter Rangat for booking their ferry tickets every day in the early morning hours are going through enormous trouble, especially women, as there is no toilet block in the premises of the Ticketing Counter.
The problem doesn’t end here; there is no sitting arrangement as well in the center which adds to the woes of the public.
The genuine demands of the public have been raised in front of the administration recently by the Pradhan, Gram Panchayat, Rangat, Mr Satish Singh.
Mr Satish Singh highlighted that people mostly reach the Ticketing counter at around 06:00 AM in the morning as the tickets are issued on a first come first basis.
“The counter opens at 09:00 am, therefore the public stands in the queue for more than 03 hours and many are unable to respond to nature’s call due to absence of a toilet block,” Mr Satish added.
Mr Satish demanded the administration to immediately sanction a toilet block in the counter that may bring big relief to the public especially for ladies and also requested to provide sitting arrangements in the counter.
