Port Blair, Nov 22: PANKH organized a joyous children’s day for children with special needs and inmates from Balika Niketan at Chinmaya Mission auditorium. Ex member of the Parliament Mr. Bishnu Pada Ray was the chief guest with Swami ShudhanandJi of Chinmaya mission.
Altogether there were 84 participants with their parents. This revelry inculcated various sports, dance and many more. Balika Niketan inmates performed a dance which was choreographed on the spot by S.Xena, student of RAAG ACADEMY.
The problem solving club students from St.Mary’s school also showcased their talents. Programme concluded with prize distribution followed by a lunch.
Two families were provided with a nutritious food hamper. PANKH promised to provide this hamper on the first week of every month. Mr. Alok Sharma, teacher from St. MARY’S school and Ms.Sania Subhash were awarded for their active participation towards the betterment of the society. PANKH awarded Mr. B.Rajesh and Shri Shankar who volunteered to conduct games for the students.
Mr. Bishnu Pada Rai lauded the NGO for doing such a wonderful job, he felt that these children are left behind in the day to day race and he felt happy to see them performing like this. Vote of thanks was given by Mowha Mistry, child with special need.
