Billyground, Oct 28: Adding to the growing number of crime cases in Andaman and Nicobar Islands, a burglary case has been reported from the Billyground bazaar area of Middle Andaman on 26 October 2019.
According to report when an arecanut trader of Billyground bazaar entered in his shop on 26 October at around 4:00 a.m. as per his daily schedule, he was shocked to see that the shop is open and the front office has been vandalized by some unknown person.
He also noted that the cash table, in which he had kept Rs. 1.5 lakhs after completing business a day before, is also missing.
He immediately reported this matter to nearby people and after thorough search they found the broken cash table thrown in front of the police booth of Billyground Bazaar. The cash of Rs. 1.5 Lakh was missing from the table and other important document like cheque book and ATM cards were thrown on the ground.
Following this a police complaint has been registered in Billyground police station immediately. Following police complaint investigation was initiated to catch the burglars. The police team of PS Billyground reportedly picked up to dozens of suspects in this case but till now the police station is unable to crack the case.
As per reports, from CCTV camera footage of nearby shops, the police team has found that two people had entered the shop but because the CCTV footage quality was very bad and the accused people had covered their face the police team could not identify the culprits yet.
Meanwhile people of Billyground area have expressed their anger over this issue because according to them due to lack of night patrolling by police station of Billyground such incident happened.
