Port Blair, Oct 10: To curb down the bootlegging activities and fight against the menace to eradicate the trade of illegal sale of illicit liquor, once again a huge quantity of illicit liquor was destroyed by the team of Police Station Ograbraj.
On 09/10/2019, a team comprising SI R Sreenivasan, I/c OP Ferrargunj, HCs Taraknath, Santosh Kumar, PCs R.K. Dey, Mohammed Rafique and HG(Dvr) Manoj Kumar of OP Ferrargunj was constituted under SI V.K. Maurya, SHO PS Ograbraj for conducting jungle raid/search at Ferrargunj area. During the search operation, the team recovered 02 drum containing premature illicit liquor (Lehan approx 160 ltrs) from Ferrargunj forest check post area. The said illicit liquor was destroyed instantly at the spot.
The entire operation was conducted under the supervision of Shri. Manoj Kumar Meena, SDPO (Bambooflat) and overall supervision and direction of Shri. Manoj C., IPS, Superintendent of Police, South Andaman District.
The public is requested to share information about illegal activities with Police in full confidence so that such anti-social elements are brought to justice and may pass such information to 03192-232100 or at 112. The identity of the informer will be kept secret.
