Port Blair, Oct 10: MGG College Mayabunder today celebrated 150th Birth Anniversary with great joy and pomp. In this connection, the celebration of 150th birth anniversary 300 students, Principal and staffs of the college a started the celebration by conducted “Pad Yatra” at 6.30AM from MGGG College to Coast Guard station at Rampur , Mayabunder region and return.
After completion the Pad Yatra, Dr. B.Prabhuram, Principal garlanded to the statue of Mahatma Gandhi and students sang the Ram Dhoon. The program concluded with the pledge of “Swatchta hi Jeewan” by Principal, Staffs and Students.
On the other hand the District Administration organised a program in connection the celebration of Gandhiji’s 150th birth anniversary in the Auditorium of MGG College Mayabunder. The program begans at 9 AM with floral tribute and garlanding to the statue of Mahatma Gandhi by DC and concluded with Ram Dhoon at 11AM. On this occasion Dr. B.Prabhuram Principal, MGGC and Awanish Kumar, IAS, DC N& M Andaman addressed the gathering. DC urged to all to follow the principles of Mahatma Gandhi in everyone’s life and make himself happy and give happiness to others. In this program all the head of the offices and staffs were present and they took oath that they will make the district neat and clean and will work with their best endeavour to present the district as one of the best place in the country.
