Port Blair, Sept 26: As a part of commemoration of 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, the A&N Islands Khadi & Village Industries Board, in association with the Directorate of Industries and Education Department organized a sit & draw competition for the students of class V to VIII and an essay writing competition for class IX to XII at the Govt. Girls Senior Secondary School, Port Blair on Sept 22, 2019. Altogether 97 students, whose names were sponsored by the different Govt. as well as private Middle / Secondary / Senior Secondary schools from Port Blair and surrounding areas of South Andaman participated in the competitions. Out of these 97 students, 71 students of class V to VIII participated in the sit and draw competition whereas 26 students of class IX to XII participated in the essay writing competition. The evaluation of the drawing / essay writing sheets were done immediately after the competitions by the expert judges in the line. The winners of both the competitions will be announced and felicitated in due course of time.
