Port Blair, Sept 26: The ‘Ayushman Bharat Diwas’-‘Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana’ was observed in N&M Andaman District with the theme of ‘Ayushman Bharat Ho, Bharat Ayushman ho’ on 23rd September, 2019. A district level function was organised at Dr R.P. Hospital, Mayabunde. Mr. Awanish Kumar, Chairman (Deputy Commissioner, N&MA), District Health Society, North & Middle Andaman was the chief guest on the occasion. The Golden Cards under PMJAY were distributed to beneficiaries. The chief guest spoke on the significance and importance of ‘Ayushmaan Bharat’ PMJAY Scheme to create secondary and territory care to poor families. Dr. Prabir Kumar Palit, Medical Officer i/c, North & Middle Andaman, Dr R P Hospital, Mayabunder was present on the occasion.Meanwhile, during the Ayushman Bharat Pakhwada, awareness rally was conducted to spread the awareness on Ayushman Bharat in schools and anganwadi centres. The participants carried banners with slogan on ‘Ayushmaan Bharat’ to create awareness on ‘Golden Cards’.
