Diglipur, September 25: The problem of Diglipur patients seems to be increasing day by day. A few days back when Andaman Sheekha reported that the entire show of CHC Diglipur is managed by only two doctors, one Doctor was immediately sent to CHC Diglipur by DHS from Mayabunder. But now again the same Doctor has been sent back to Mayabunder leaving again, only two Doctors to manage the show in CHC Diglipur.
CHC Diglipur, which has a daily foot in of more than 700-800 patients, is being looked after by the present 02 doctors. Hence, one can fathom about the quality of treatment.
Andaman Sheekha has learnt that as per the guidelines, it is mandatory that a CHC must have 04 General Duty Medical Officer and 01 Chief Medical Officer but in this case of CHC Diglipur the Directorate of Health Services have ignored all the guidelines and made the situation horrible for the patients.
Wailing with body pain a patient in the queue told Andaman Sheekha that “I don’t know what the problem is but I am standing in the queue since last 3 hours, the situation in a hospital shouldn’t be like this.”
As per the data available with Andaman Sheekha, there were eight MBBS Doctors four months back but now there are only four Doctors remaining. Out of eight, two Doctors resigned and two got transferred without any reliever. Out of present four Doctors, one Doctor left for two months EL and one Doctor has been shifted to PHC Radha Nagar.
When contacted the Chief Medical Officer, CHC Diglipur, Dr Siddha Raju in this regard he said that the issue rose because 02 Doctors of this CHC, Dr Nicholas and Dr Amir went on leave and when the CHC Diglipur didn’t get any reliever for them from the Directorate of Health Services.
However, he said that the matter was highlighted to the Director and hence one Doctor from RP Hospital, Mayabunder, Dr Gopal has been deputed here. Dr Siddha added that the director has assured him that he will depute one more doctor in this CHC soon.
Insiders told Andaman Sheekha that even the Dr. Gopal who have been deputed to CHC Diglipur for short gap management was called back to RP Hospital, Mayabunder, which again left the CHC with only two doctors, including the CMO.
Andaman Sheekha tried to connect with the Director of Health but his number is diverted to another number which is out of network coverage area.
Meanwhile it is learnt that some PRI members are now planning to stage an agitation infront of CHC Diglipur against such shortage of Doctors.
