Port Blair, September 24: One could never imagine that the crucial offices of Andaman & Nicobar Islands those are lined up for jobs in case of any emergencies are running their show without a landline connection.
Can anyone guess if in case of an emergency or any official purposes if anybody or any offices had to contact the aforesaid offices, where they had to approach for numbers? No, because in no telephone directory you will find the numbers of these offices as they are using mobile phones since January 2019.
As per reports, the above mentioned offices do not have the landline connections since 08th January, 2019 after the BSNL wires got damaged during the construction of roads by NHIDCL in the Chouldary- Pout Mout area.
Till date the Landline connections of IRBn and NDRF offices remain out of order and the BSNL authority didn’t take any steps to restore the landline connections in these crucial offices.
Not only this, the other offices that come in Chouldary- Pout Mout area like Patwari office, Agriculture face same problems. According to reports, for all e-governance jobs the Patwari section of this area had to go a long way till their Ferrargunj office to complete the e-governance jobs of Chouldary- Pout Mout area.
However, for the information of general public, the official mobile number of IRBn office is 9474289016 and the landline number that was active till January is 289174 which will ring if we call but nobody will attend as it is out of order.
Andaman Sheekha tried from sources to get the official mobile number of NDRF office but because there is a frequent change of staffs in the office, it is learnt that, there is no number permanently used for official use.
