Port Blair, Sept 23: With the divine blessings of Her Holiness Satguru Mata Sudiksha Ji Maharaj the 20th BLOOD DONATION CAMP was held at Sant Nirankari Satsang Bhavan, Junglighat, on 22nd September 2019 under the banner of Sant Nirankari Charitable Foundation in association with A&N Aids Control Society. The camp was inaugurated by Smti. Kriti Garg, IAS, Secretary (Health), A&N Administration.
The function was attended by Rev. Mohan Parsad Shaw, Zonal In charge SNM Kolkata Zone and Rev. Arjan Singh Ex.Zonal In-charge Sant Nirankari Mandal, Kolkata, Zone-45, Smti. Anita Saha Senior Ophthalmologist. The Blood donation camp was supervised by Dr. Kodandram, Deputy Director/Chief Medical Officer, I/c Blood Bank.
In this camp altogether 165 volunteers were registered, out of which 122 were donated their blood and 43 were rejected because of the medical reason.
Speaking on the occasion, Smti. Kriti Garg said that I am very much indeed and proud to be privileged being the part of this camp. She told the mobility of cause of blood donation camp itself speaks the volume of dedication of Saints who have come from Kolkata Zone and the volunteers of this mission towards raising awareness in society and encouraging youth to participate in it. We as the department of health services look forward to a positive association for many more such activities. She expresses her total satisfaction.
Meanwhile, Zonal In-charge, Kolkata, Zone-45, Rev. Mohan Parsad Shaw Ji, informed to the gathering that the Blood donation camp was started with the blessing of His Holiness Satguru Baba Hardev Singh ji Maharaj in the year 1986 since then 6,200 camp was organized and 10,63,143 units of blood were donated. He also mentioned that Sant Nirankari Mission is one of the leading blood donors in India and well recognized in world. Further, he added that the mission also involved in many social activities like disaster management during natural calamity, women empowerment, and cleanliness drive movement.
Zonal Incharge, Kolkata Zone, Rev. Arjan Singh Ji, said that the source of blood is only human body. Blood does not distinguish on the basis of cast and creed, it suits to every person. The color of blood is red; no religion can change its color. He appraised the various humanitarian activities of the Sant Nirankari Mission undertaking at global level. He further mentioned that when someone is in urgent need of blood, no questions are asked about the religion of the blood donor, then why is it that human beings today are divided over religion? He also highlighted the message of Satguru Baba Hardev Singh Ji Maharaj that “THE BLOOD SHOULD FLOW IN THE VAIN OF HUMAN NOT IN THE DRAIN”. Where as after transferring the blood into the other body the actual blood relation developed between donor and receiver.
Addressing to the gathering Dr. Anita Saha, Senior Ophthalmologist, said that the Sant Nirankari Mission is doing appreciable task to the mankind by way of donating blood to the needy where donor himself doesn’t know who is receiver of his blood and viz versa. In her speech she added besides donating blood we should encourage for donation of Eye. She quoted that “till our lives we should donate blood after our death one should donate eye”.
Altogether 165 volunteers were registered their name out of them 122 were donated their blood. In which 79 male and 43 female. No. of rejected donors were 43.
