Port Blair, Sept 23: ICAR-CIARI will be conducting National Training Programme on “Sustainable Integrated Farming Systems for Coastal Eco-regions of India” from 24th September to 14th October, 2019 for the B.Sc. (Ag.) students of Acharya N.G. Ranga Agricultural University (ANGRAU), Andhra Pradesh under the World Bank funded NAHEP project at its Garacharma complex.
Dr. B. Gangaiah, Director, ICAR-CIARI and Course Director of the Institutional Development Plan (IDP) has informed that this is for the first time the Students of professional colleges of mainland India are attending the training programme at ICAR-CIARI, Port Blair which will provide them an opportunity to enrich their knowledge in the field of Natural resource management, organic farming, integrated farming system, agro-based EDP through interaction with diversified and experienced experts. The field visits have also been planned for giving insight on the transect of bioresource and visit to the biodiversity hotspots. Thirty students (24 female and 6 male) are participating in this 22 days training programme.
Dr. G. Trinadh Kumar, IFS, Conservator of Forests (Headquarter) will be the Chief Guest and inaugurate the programme at 10.00 AM on 24th September, 2019 at Dr. T.R. Dutta Conference Hall, Garacharma Research Complex.
The programme is planned and executed under the leadership of Dr. B. Gangaiah, Director, ICAR-CIARI and coordinated by Dr. T.P. Swarnam and Mr. Sushil Kumar Singh.
