Port Blair, Sept 06: Community Food and Nutrition Extension Unit (CFNEU) and Field Outreach Bureau (FOB) organised a Nutrition Camp cum Quiz Competition today at Buniyadabad Community Hall. Anganwadi workers from Buniyadabad and adjoining areas and local residents attended the camp and participated in the Competition. The Event was organised with active support from ICDS Team (Urban) of South Andaman.
Local ward councillor Shri K Ganeshan was also present on the occasion. Addressing the gathering, Shri Ganeshan urged the participants to develop a habit of balanced intake of food comprising of variety of food. He encouraged the participants to eat less spicy food cooked with a lesser amount of oil and salt.
During the event, Shri Anil Kumar Dhiman, Demonstration officer of CFNEU conducted the Quiz Competition and the winners were awarded at the end of the event. Effective Information, Education and Communication (IEC) material on Nutrition was also distributed during the event. FOB In-charge Nilesh Kumar Kalbhor also share his views on the occasion. CFNEU operates under Food and Nutrition Board of Ministry of Woman and Child Development. FOB operates under Bureau of Outreach Communication (BOC) of Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
