Port Blair, Sept 06: In order to promote Road Safety, on 05/09/2019 at 1600 hrs a meeting was conducted with association of Truck Drivers by Shri. Ajay Kumar Rai, DANIPS, Dy. SP (Traffic) at PS Aberdeen Conference Hall. A total of 108 drivers were present in the meeting. They were educated on traffic rules and regulations and were also familiarized with the New Motor Vehicle Amendment Act, 2019 which will be implemented soon in these islands.
During the meeting the drivers were cautioned to be more careful and follow the traffic rules and regulations for their own as well as general public safety and also interested requested to post a clear photo/video of erring driver/rider violating traffic rules with registration number of vehicle, date, time and location of violation on A&NI Traffic Police phone/landline number or sites for initiating further legal action.
