Port Blair, Sept 05: Under Jal Sakthi Abhiyan, the officers and staff of South Andaman Division under Tushnabad Range along with Pradhan, Mithakhari Gram Panchayat and other PRI members with the involvement of villagers planted 100 Nos. bamboo seedlings in the graveyard at Namunaghar and further 100 Nos. bamboo seedlings were planted in Mithakhari on 05.09.2019. The PRI members and villagers participated enthusiastically for planting of the seedlings. The site selected was a common graveyard which is shared by Hindus, Muslims and Christians adjacently. On the occasion, the PRI members and the general public thanked Forest Department for fulfilling their long pending demand as there is acute shortage of bamboo in the area for performing certain rituals in the graveyard.
