Port Blair, Sept 03: Launched on Sept 23, 2018, Ayushman Bharat-Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana aims to provide cashless treatment worth Rs. 5 Lakhs per family per year for serious illnesses to identified poor families. In the UT of Andaman & Nicobar Islands, 21,399/- families are eligible to avail the benefits of the schemes.
Personalized Beneficiary Identification Letters received from the Prime Minister are being distributed by ANMs of the Health Institutions across the Islands. The ANM of the nearest health centre may be contacted for delivery of the Prime Minister’s Letters.
One can also know about his eligibility under the scheme by calling the toll free number 1800-111-565 and giving details of ration card and mobile number. The beneficiaries can get their Ayushman Bharat Card (Golden Record) generated at GB Pant Hospital, Port Blair, R P Hospital, Mayabunder and BJR Hospital, Car Nicobar or at the nearest Common Service Centre. The documents needed for the purpose are Aadhaar Card or any Govt. Photo ID Card and Ration Card. The Common Service Centre shall charge an amount of Rs. 30/- for generating and providing a laminated card to the beneficiary.
