Betapur, Aug 27: Large number of public of Shivapuram and nearby area today blocked two LPG distribution trucks this morning, when the trucks, enroute Mayabunder, were crossing Betapur area.
According to details since last nearly three months the residents of Shivapuram Panchayat are not getting LPG cylinders and hence anger was brewing among the villagers and today when they saw LPG truck crossing the area, they blocked the trucks and demanded distribution of LPG cylinders in Shivapuram area, before distribution of LPG cylinders anywhere else.
Pradhan of the Shivapuram Panchayat Mr. Lorentos Barla was also present during the protest. Later, after the Manger of CCS gave assurances to Pradhan in writing that tomorrow LPG cylinder will be distributed in Shivapuram area, the public withdrew the protest and allowed the LPG trucks to go ahead.
