Port Blair, Aug 25: Central Crime Station in its continuous efforts and crackdown against illegal Narcotics in A&N Islands, has arrested one drug peddler. On 23/08/2019 a team comprising Inspr. Mahesh Yadav, SHO PS CCS, SI T.DillaRao, HC/94 P.Mustafa, PC/1067 Thangaraj, PC/1143 K. Rajendran, PC/705 Hari Krishna Yadav and PC/966 P. K. Mondal was constituted based on credible information a raid was conducted by PS CCS raiding team and apprehended, one person namely N.Naveen S/o Late N. S. Krishnan(21 yrs) R/o Junglighat, 3rd Cross Road and recovered 107 grams of illicit ganja from his possession. Later on he disclosed to the Police team that he is in possession of Contraband ganja and he is going to sell illicit Ganja clandestinely to youths at Junglighat near Anand Marga School. The illicit ganja was seized on the spot and accused were arrested under the relevant sections i.e 20(b)(ii)A of Narcotic Drug and Psychotropic Substances Act 1985. The entire raid was commanded by Inspr. Mahesh Yadav, SHO PS CCS and Shri Abhishek Gupta, Dy.SP(CID) under the overall supervision of Shri. Ravi Kumar Singh, IPS, SP (CID).
The CID & Central Crime Station (CCS) units of Andaman & Nicobar Police is taking all possible steps in making these Islands free from anti social activity and keeping strict vigil over smuggling and proliferation of narcotics substance in these Islands. General Public is requested to pass on credible information on narcotics substance, illegal sale of liquor, gambling or any illegal activity on the telephone numbers: 233307, 232586, 100, 9474233832, & 9531856294. The informer will be suitably rewarded and his/her identity will be kept secret.
