Mayabunder, July 30: It seems LPG crisis has become a regular matter for the people of North and Middle Andaman. Now the Pradhan of Pahalgaon Panchayat has claimed that no supply of LPG cylinder has been made in the village of Pahalgaon in last three months by CCS.
“This is so difficult to get an LPG in this village. Don’t know why Pahalgaon village is neglected so much by CCS,” Mr. Shibananda Bairagi, the Pradhan of Pahalgaon Panchayat told Andaman Sheekha today.
When contacted the incharge of CCS unit of Mayabunder was not willing to talk to media but when repeatedly asked he claimed that not three, but for one and half month no distribution of LPG has been made in the region.
He claimed that the delay is because of weight restriction in TV Kulam Bridge after collapse of Thoratang Bridge. “Now the trucks of CCS are brining 50 less cylinders to Mayabunder region and hence many areas are not getting LPG cylinder in time.
When asked when the CCS is planning to send next batch of cylinders to Pahalgaon Village he said that he is not sure when it will be done. He said priority areas are Billyground and Nimbudera after which dates of LPG distribution in Pahalgaon area will be finalized.
