Port Blair, July 14: The Shaheed Ashim Bhattacharjee Park of Junglighat gets publicity in local media always for wrong reasons. Several local media had earlier highlighted as how the park is misused as open air bar by miscreants.
After complaints, when Andaman Sheekha team visited the park at evening hours it was observed that people are openly consuming beer in the park, without any fear.
There were also people, who were smoking in gangs but it hard to conclude whether they were smoking Ganja.
Meanwhile some residents of the area have demanded that regular police patrolling must be made in and around the park to stop gross misuse of the park, which was named after Son of this Soil, Martyr, Captain Ashim Bhattacharya.
