Port Blair, Aug 17: At a simple function held at Raj Niwas here today, the Lt Governor Lt Gen (Retd) Bhopinder Singh, PVSM, AVSM administered Sadbhavana Pledge to all the staff of Lieutenant Governor’s Secretariat. The birth anniversary of Late Rajiv Gandhi, former Prime Minister of India is observed as Sadbhavana Diwas. The main objective for the observation of the day is to encourage and strengthen peace and unity amongst the people of the country regardless of caste, region, religion or language. The day which is actually observed on August 20 was observed today as there is a general holiday on August 20 due to Eid-ul-Fitre
