Port Blair, Jun 18: As a part of the CSR activity, the Youth Wing of the Andaman Chamber of Commerce & Industry (ACCI) conducted a tree plantation drive the Green Sankalp – a Green initiative project of ACCI alongside the road of South Wandoor. 300 Karanj tree saplings were planted on Sunday (16.6.2019) from 6.30 AM. The Green Sankalp event was initiated by the Youth Wing of ACCI during 2018 when trees were planted inside and around the Science Centre with an idea to save the nature and keep Andaman clean and green. More-than 60 Members of Youth Wing, Executive Committee Members of ACCI and Volunteers participated in the event. Shri PS Deepak, Chairman Youth Wing of ACCI welcomed the gathering.
The event was conducted with the assistance of the Range Office, Manglutan, Department of Environment & Forests & Wandoor Panchayat. The President, ACCI appreciated the initiative of the Young Wing of the Chamber and mentioned that under the Green Sankalp – a Green initiative project of ACCI – more trees will be planted every year in all parts of these Islands. Shri Arun Singh, General Secretary, Youth Wing of ACCI expressed thanks to Forest Department and Gram Panchayats for extending their support.
