Port Blair, May 07: The busy area of Bangali Club Junction today witnessed traffic jam after fire was spotted from the branches of the huge tree, situated on the side of ASI Building, of Bangali Club Junction.
Eyewitnesses said that when the branches came with the contact of live wire sparks were seen and soon the branch was on fire, threatening vehicles and people crossing the junction.
Soon the area was cleared and Fire Brigade was informed. After joint efforts of Electricity Department staffs and Fire Brigade the fire was brought under control immediately. There is no report of any damage of property.
