Port Blair, Apr 21: Dr. Saumitra Bharadwaj, President of MEDICA Super-specialty Hospital on Saturday said that the MEDICA prides itself for the service provided to the people of the Islands.
Addressing a press conference at Port Blair on Saturday, he said that it was the first and only hospital to support the ANISHI scheme. Over a period of time it treated more than 1000 patients having excellent feedback from the people of ANI.
“For us the association with the island is an emotional one and we have set up the team of our best people to man the ANI help desk at the hospital,” he added.
Prof. Dr. Rabin Chakravarty, Senior Vice Chairman of the Group who was at Port Blair for having scientific sessions with the doctors of GB Pant Hospital said that MEDICA has emerged as a leading cardiac center of the country.
With over 100 adult cardiac surgeries and over 50 paediatric cardiac surgeries it has one of the biggest cardiac program of the region.
We are doing many interventional and cardiac procedures for the young children and have already become an established center for this work.
Over the next few months we intend to become the largest and the best center for pediatric cardiology in the region. Not to forget we have done many path breaking procedures like TAVR and hybrid cardio surgeries with surgeons and interventional cardiologists working together on the same patient at the same time.
Dr.Harsh Jain, Senior Neurosurgeon was also present at the scientific session; he added “My association with ANI is now 4 years old. I have had the privilege of treating most of the patients who came to Medica Hospital Kolkata. We have had some very complicated cases that were operated successfully. I continue to visit Port Blair every month to ensure that follow up of patients is available. We are awaiting to join the ANISHI as soon as the request for proposal is asked for.”
