Port Blair, Apr 08 : In another crackdown police team of Shaheed Dweep caught a person, namely Mr. Madhusudan Majumdar, Son of Mr. Mahanando Majumdar, aged 41 years, a resident of Laxmanpur-I, Shaheed Dweep with 50 grams of illicit Ganja.
According to sources on 5th April Mr. Muthu Swamy SB CID Shaheed Dweep received information at around 0745 hrs that a man named Madhusudan Majumdar would be arriving at Shaheed Dweep by government ferry carrying illicit Marijuana/Ganja. The message was immediately conveyed to SDPO or the region, who directed a team to reach the spot and nap the person. The arrest was made at 09.30 hrs at Neil Kendra Jetty, Shaheed Dweep. The accused was caught with two transparent polythene packets carrying 25 grams of Marijuana each. The raid was conducted by SI Randhir Singh of PS Shaheed Dweep, under supervision of SHO of PS Shaheed Dweep, Inspector Barun Adhikhari.
