Port Blair, Aug 10: A function to celebrate “Grandparents Day” was organized by Coast Guard Kindergarten School Haddo, in Co-ordination with Coast Guard Wives Welfare Association (CGWWA), Port Blair on 09 Aug 12. The aim of the event was to inculcate in the tiny tots a feeling of respect for elderly people and to strengthen the bond of unity with them. Mrs. Jyoti Murthy, President CGWWA (A&N), Port Blair was the chief guest. The grandparents of all children studying in CG KG School, Port Blair were special invitees.
During the event all children enthusiastically participated in a Colorful flower show, Skit and Dance programmes. An entertainment game specially for grandparents was also organised. Prizes were also distributed to all the participating children.
Speaking on the occasion Mrs. Jyoti Murthy, President CGWWA (A&N), emphasized on the importance and presence of elders in the family, not only as a guiding spirit to all, but also as a reminder to everyone, of our family values, heritage and tradition. She appreciated the efforts of the school children and the staff of CG KG School, Haddo, and also conveyed her gratitude to the grandparents of all children who graced the occasion.
