Port Blair, Mar 28: A floating body was found floating in sea near Chatham Island this morning.
The body was soon recovered from the sea and later the deceased was identified as Mr. A Muthayalluh, 65 years, a private labourer by profession and resident of Anarkali Basthi.
The floating body was reported to the DSS and PMF (Police Marine Force) by the Boatmaster of M.V.Sher Ali an offshore ferry, which opeate between Panighat and Chatham.
PS Chatham was also informed about the body and taking a swift action SI Anish Ibrahim along with the team from PS Chatham consisting of PC Santhosh Kumar and PC Vijay Kumar along with PMF members retrieved the body and sent it for post mortem. Furter Investigation in this matter has been initiated. The cause of death is still not clear.
