Port Blair, Mar 25: On the last day of filing of nomination for the Lok Sabha seat of A & N Islands Parliamentary constituency 13 nominations were filed on today i.e. 25.03.2019. as per details one set of nomination paper was received from Mr. Kalimuthu, S/o Late L.K. Tewar, R/o Supply Line, Port Blair Tehsil, South Andaman District as Independent candidate; one set of nomination paper was received from Mr. C.G. Saji Kumar, S/o P.R. Gopinathan, R/o APWD Main Store Area, Port Blair as a candidate of All India Hindustan Congress; one set of nomination paper was received from Mr. V V Khalid, S/o V.V. Mohammed, R/o Anarkali village, Port Blair as Independent candidate; one set of nomination paper was received from Mr. Prakash Minj, S/o Late Patric Minj, R/o Dairy Farm PS Mill, Port Blair as a candidate of of Bahujan Samaj Party; one set of nomination paper was received from Mr. Venkat Ram Babu, S/o Late K. Thathayya, R/o Wimberlygunj village, South Andaman as Independent candidate; four sets of nominations were received from Mr. Vishal Jolly, S/o Late Brij Mohan Jolly, R/o Naya Basti, Bambooflat village, Ferrargunj Tehsil, South Andaman as a candidate of Bharatiya Janata Party; one set of nomination was received from Mr. Taranga Kumar Dhali, S/o Late Sushil Dhali, R/o Shantanu village, Rangat Tehsil, North & Middle Andaman District as a candidate of Bharatiya Janata Party; one set of nomination was received from Mr. Henry, S/o Samuel, R.o Kakana village, Car Nicobar Tehsil, Nicobar District as Independent candidate; one set of nomination was received from Mr. Gour Chandra Majumder, S/o Late Gopal Krishna Majumder, Sitapur village, Rangat Tehsil, North & Middle Andaman District as Independent candidate; one set of nomination was received from Mr. S. Sudershan Rao, S/o Late S. Jagannathan, R/o HUDCO Colony, School Line, Port Blair as independent candidate; one set of nomination was received from Mr. Y. Sunny, S/o O. Yohannan, R/o Prem Nagar, Port Blair as Independent candidate; one set of nomination was received from Mr. Paritosh Kumar Haldar, S/o Late S.N. Halder, R/o Ramakrishnapur, Little Andaman as Independent candidate and one set of nomination was received from Mr. C.U. Rasheed, S/o C.U. Kammu Kutty, R/o Calicut village, Port Blair as Independent candidate.
“All Nomination papers were handed over to the Returning Officer, A & N Islands Parliamentary Constituency, Mr. Udit Prakash Rai at the Office of the Returning Officer (Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman) in person. Further it is informed scrutiny of the nominations received will be carried out in the office of Returning Officer on 26th March 2019 from 11:00 am onwards. Also it is hereby notified that allotment of symbols will be done on 28th March, 2019 at 3:00 pm,” a release from Returning Officer, Andaman and Nicobar Parliamentary Constituency said here today.
Earlier, Mr. Sanjay Meshak from AAP, Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma from INC, Mr. Sudhir Biswas from INC, Mr. K. Muthu From INC, Mr. Ayan Mandal of All India Trinamool Congress and Mrs. Minoty Biswas Independent Candidate had filled nominations.
