Port Blair, Mar 14: Andaman and Nicobar Islands witnessed almost total internet blackout yesterday following some damages in Optical Fiber Cable at West Bengal near Satellite Station, sources in BSNL said.
Sudden disruption of Internet Service all over Andaman and Nicobar Islands not only caused huge loss to business community, especially tour companies, but also disrupted publication of most of the prominent dailies of Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
Although the service was more or less restored by today morning but internet speed even for broadband remained terribly slow. The CGM BSNL was not available for a comment in this regard.
