Port Blair, Feb 24: The District Commissioner of North and Middle Andaman Mr. Awanish Kumar, IAS and Zilla Parishad Adhyaksh Mr. Srinivasan visited the Gandhinagar Gram Panchayat along with all the head of the Departments.
The DC visited the village under the scheme of Sarkar Aapke Dwar and heard the problems, being faced by people and assured them favourable action.
Even on holiday, the District Commissioner spent time with people hearing their problems and directed all the Head of the Departments to find a solution for the problems of people as soon as possible. On this occasion the Pradhan of Gandhinagar Gram Panchayat, Mr. Golapi Das was also present along with other PRI members.
From Gandhinagar the DC reached Durgapur Gram Panchayat along with ZP Adhyaksh after travelling for one hour. The Zilla Parishad Member of the area Mr. J.Bobby was present along with the villagers and pradhan. A couple of year ago, the people of Durgapur had demanded a youth club to be constructed and they were delighted as the youth club has now been constructed and DC Mr. Awanish Kumar along with Zilla Parishad Adhyaksh reached the village for the Inauguration.
After Inauguration, in an speech the DC requested for the people to take part in more and more sports and cultural events and bring laurels for the Islands and also to get enrolled under Swasth Bharat Abhiyan and work as volunteers to keep the people of their area aware and healthy. “Only then the main aim for the construction of the youth club will be achieved and the youth club will be considered as a successful,” he said.
