Port Blair, Feb 20: A initiative has been taken up by the youths of Great Nicobar island to motivate youths for sports activities and to ‘’Say no to Drug’’.
Jointly the two major youth clubs of the Island “Great Nicobar Yuva Sangh and J C Brothers” have organized the GREAT NICOBAR CRICKET PREMIER LEAGUE to boost the sportsmanship spirit among the youths of the far flung Island.
The inauguration of the tournament has been done by the Zilla Parishad Member of Campbell bay Mr. Gagandeep Singh Grewal and Govt. Contractor Mr. R. Sathalingam at Mini stadium Campbell Bay.
In this tournament total 13 Teams from different parts of the Island have been participating, the league will be played under 4 pools; the first Match was played between JC Brothers Vs Navy.
The organizers of tournament Mr. Bhartiraja told Andaman Sheekha that the motive of organizing this tournament is to boost sportsman spirit among the youths so that they do not go towards Drugs addiction.
