Port Blair, Feb 20: The Member of Parliament of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Mr. Bishnu Pada Ray visited Mayabander tehsil today under which he visited Chainpur and Pudu Madurai Gram Panchayat and laid the foundation stone for community halls. While talking to the people he made them aware about the schemes being introduced by the government for the people of rural areas.
Later Mr. Bishnu Pada Ray visited Mahatama Gandhi Government College Mayabander and interacted with the lecturers and Guest Faculty members.
The Guest Faculty members demanded hike in wages for them to Rs. 50,000.
The MP also attended a one hour meeting with the students of the college in which he made the students aware about the different Schemes of the government for the people to support them for a better future.
Mr. Ray also interacted with students in a questions and answers session and answered their questions.
The students also facilities like solar plant in that area to tackle load-shedding problems. Mr. Ray assured the students that he will talk to the government and the administration in this regards.
Later the MP also interacted with PRI members at Mayabunder. Tomorrow MP will visit Paschim Sagar, Kalighat and Shivpur areas to meet people and will depart for Port Blair on 22nd February 9:00am.
