Port Blair, Feb 17: It has informed that traffic police and local police i.e. PS Pahargaon/Aberdeen conducted special drive from 04.02.2019 by placing barricades at different locations to curb the violators of over speeding/rash & negligent /dangerous /drunken driving and other various traffic violations in and around the Port Blair Municipal Area.
During the drive a total 2854 challan were issued against the traffic violators. About 43 vehicle’s riders/drivers were found driving under the influence of alcohol and their vehicles were seized and sent to Court for legal proceedings. A total of 127 riders were challaned for dangerous/over-speeding driving.
All the general public has hereby once again advised to follow strictly the traffic rules and regulations. The drive will continue.
