Port Blair, Feb 06: Non availability of LPG cylinders has hit the PHC Tushnabad hard, where the hospital staffs are unable to cook food properly for the patient due to lack of cooking gas.
Sources said that showing presence of mind today the hospital staffs anyhow managed the situation by cooking in induction stove.
When contacted Dr Rubi, the Chief Medical Officer told Andaman Sheekha that due to lack of LPG cylinder the hospital staffs had to cook food using induction stove. As per the CMO the demand for LPG Cylinder was raised long back but it was not supplied on time.
Sources said that as today there were only two patients in PHC Tushnabad, the staffs could manage the situation well but in case of more patient, it would become difficult for the staffs to supply food to patients.
PHC Tushnabad is important because of Jarawa tribal people are often admitted in the hospital and at that time cooking right food at right time becomes very important.
Not only tribal patients, for all the patients the hospital authority must make sure that necessary items reach the hospital on time.
The CMO Dr. Ruby however added that she is expecting delivery of LPG cylinders tomorrow after which the problem will be solved.
