Swaraj Dweep, Feb 04: As a part of celebration of SubhashMela at SwarajDweep various AYUSH awareness activities including Beach yoga, Ayurveda Health camp and public health talk were organized by the AYUSH Wing of DHS in association with A&N SAS-NAM and SubhashMela Committee.
A public awareness meeting was organized on various non-communicable diseases, in the presence of the Dr. P.K. Palit, M.O I/c, PHC SwarajDweep, Dr.Kalyan P. Kadbhane, DD (AYUSH), Dr.Anpreet Kaur, Dental Surgeon, Dr. Shantanu Ghoshal, M.O. (Homoeo) and Mr. Gunasekhar, Yoga Instructor the Mela ground on 27th Jan,2019. A question answer session was also held in which various queries of the general public were cleared by the Medical experts.
The programme was facilitated by Mr. AlokMirdha, Chairman, Mela Committee and Mr. Sushanta Biswas, Secretary Mela Committee. An Ayurveda health camp was organized on 28th Jan, 2019 at Govt. Middle School, Krishna Nagar, SwarajDweep. Dr.Kalyan P. Kadbhane, DD (AYUSH), Dr. NatkarMeenaVaijinath, M.O (Ayurveda) and Mr. Prakash Lall, Pharmacist (Ayurveda) rendered their services in the camp. Around 50 patients were benefitted.
Beach yoga programme was organized in the evening of 28th Jan, 2019 at Radhanagar Beach, SwarajDweep. Mr. Gunasekhar, Yoga Instructor demonstrated various yoga asanas and pranayama with the benefits in various lifestyle disorders. Around 50 people participated in the yoga session.
Dr. Ruth, Dental Surgeon, BJR Hospital, Car Nicobar gave her brief description on importance of oral hygiene and ill effects of the uses of Tobacco. The camp was organized in the presence of Mr. Samuel Erick, Second Captain, Mus village, Car Nicobar. About 70 patients were benefitted in the camp. The camp was well coordinated by Mr. DabluMondal (Ward attendant), Mr. Balraj (Panchakarma Attendant), Smt. Mercy Alexander (ANM) and Smt. Jochibeth (Asha), as said in a communication by Dr. Kalyan P. Kadbhane, Deputy Director (AYUSH).
