Port Blair, Jan 28: On the eve of Republic Day, the Samastha Kendra Sunni Students Federation (SKSSF), a socio-religious organisation conducted “ManushyaJaalika” – Human Chain at Wimberlygunj with the aim to foster Communal Harmony and celebrate togetherness of our society.
The first ever programme conducted in the Islands was part of the nation-wide programme held every year on the eve of Republic Day under the ambit of the organization. The programme started with a Rally from Mini Stadium Wimberlygunj to Wimberlygunj Junction. Large number of people took part in the Rally. The rally culminated with a public meet which was also attended by scholars of different religion and PRI members.
Janab Ismail Anwari, Vice President, SKSSF Andaman welcomed the gathering. The meet was inaugurated by Sayed OMS Seethi Koya Thangal, President, SKSSF. Later, Shaikuna Sulaiman Faizee, President, SKJU-Andaman and Janab. Sammad Hudawi also addressed the gathering. It was outlined that all the religion spreads peace; however it is the least informed miscreants who do not hold the religious knowledge, end up defaming the religion by destroying the communal integrity.
Father P.M. Mathew, Christian priest while addressing the gathering expressed grief over the recent incidents of mob lynchings on the basis of religions and the growing intolerance level. He further stated that the secular fabric of the country could be kept intact only if its secular tradition is revived.
Pandit Vinod Kumar during his address praised SKSSF for organising a program of this kind for strengthening the national integrity of our Nation.
Mr. Abhay Kumar from Hindu Seva Sangh (HSS) thanked SKSSF for inviting him for this programme and also praised the efforts of SKSSF. He outlined that the brotherhood in the Islands amongst its different people is a model example for rest of India.
The scholars and people present joined hands forming a chain and took pledge for National Integrity. Sayed Umar Ali Thangal while addressing the gathering alarmed the people not to allow hatred to spread among different religions in the Islands. The programme concluded with vote of thanks proposed by Janab. P.K Jaleel, Member, SKSSF.
