Port Blair, Aug 03: Twelve members of the artist’s fraternity of the islands have been nominated from the islands in various bodies of Zonal Cultural Centre by the A&N Administration for a term of three years. Mr. Anadi Ranjan Bhattacharya, Samhita Veda Acharya, Ashish Kr. Poddar, Mr. Sharda Ram, Mr. Krishna Kumar Viswendra and Mr. Sheikh Farooq Alam have been nominated in Eastern Zonal Cultural Centre, Kolkata whereas Mr. Y. Rama Rao, S. Mohan Rao, Mr. P.R. Manikuttan, Mr. Rajesh Kumar, Ms Anuradha Ganeshan and Ms Sajida Zubair have been nominated for South Zone Cultural Centre, Thanjavur. All these artistes represent various fields of art and culture such as dance, music, painting, drama, etc. Their names were recommended by a Committee consisting of outgoing members of the Zonal Cultural Centres among others.
