Diglipur, Jan 20: Director General of Police, A & N Islands Mr. Dependra Pathak, IPS will inaugurate Fire station building at Diglipur tomorrow at 10 am.
The Fire station Diglipur is functioning round the clock since 1989 and has been provided with two fire vehicles, where men are posted to deal with any type of eventualities within the vast jurisdiction which is extending from Lamia Bay to Kalara junction, approximately 1400 sq km and covers about 72 villages and the surrounding forest area with a population of more than 60,000.
Apart from fire calls the fire station is attending special service calls such as animal rescue, flood, accident, clearing road blockade, clearing of uprooted trees, sliding, downing cases, medical assistance, Helicopter assistance etc.
