Mohanpur, Jan 18: The Deputy Commissioner of North and Middle Andaman, Mr. Awanish Kumar, IAS, visited Mohanpur area this morning as part of Prashashan Aap ke Dwar and discussed crucial issues of the area with the HoDs, Public and also Panchayati Raj Institution (PRI) members.
The meeting was organized at School ground at GPS Mohanpur. ZP Adhyaksh N & M Andaman Mr. P Srinivas Rao, Tahsildar Mayabunder, Pramukh Diglipur and HODs from Diglipur Kalight and Mayabunder and general public attended this meeting and discussed various issues.
The Mohanpur village is situated at a distance of 20 Km from Mayabunder and 70 Km from Kalighat, which is the present jurisdiction of the Mohanpur. The DC announced that due to nearer to Mayabunder and as the general public is facing lot of problems in revenue matters, now onwards the Revenue matters of Mohanpur village are carried in Mayabunder Tehsil.
The general public also demanded that the fisheries division and Police Division also change from Kalighat to Mayabunder. The water problems during summer, demand of ATM and bridge at 9 No also listed in their demands.
