Port Blair, Dec 26: A major car accident has been reported from Chouldari area on 24 December 2018, at late afternoon, injuring around four people.
According to reports four people in a car were going towards Dhanikhadi from Chouldari area and the car was at very high speed. Suddenly the driver lost control over the car, because of which the Car reportedly flipped and thrashed down into road side marshy area after knocking down a small tree. All injured people were rescued by nearby people and shifted to G B Pant Hospital. Further details are awaited.
Ceiling fan falls on Class X Student of KEMS during Class

Port Blair, Dec 26: A ceiling fan reportedly fell on students during class this afternoon at Kamraj English Medium School, injuring two girl students.
According to reports while one girl got minor injuries, another girl got cut injuries on her forehead, following which she was rushed to Hospital. At G B Pant Hospital the girl got five stitches on her forehead. According to sources the fan was making noise since nearly one week. The father of the injured girl reportedly gave a written complaint to PS Pahargaon, it is learnt.
However, school authority claimed that only one student got injuries and no student ever reported about sound coming from the fan, which fell today from ceiling.
When contacted a school official on the condition of anonymity told Andaman Sheekha that the School is carrying out regular maintenance of electric items including fans. Terming the incident as ‘unfortunate’ the official added that safety of student is school’s top priority.
