Juvenile Home double Murder Case
Port Blair, July 30: Based on prima facie serious negligence and dereliction of duty resulting in murder of the Caretaker and Watchman by the inmates of the Juvenile Home at Nayagoan in Port Blair, the Lt. Governor, Lt. Gen. (Retd.) Bhopinder Singh, PVSM, AVSM has placed Mr. R.K. Maji, Superintendent (JH) and Mr. A.K. Biswas, Probation Officer (JH) of Directorate of Social Welfare Department under suspension.
The Lt. Governor has already ordered an enquiry by Mr. Rupesh Kumar Thakur, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman District to fix responsibility for the lapses that led to this unfortunate and shameful incident of double murder case at Juvenile Home and to suggest measures to be undertaken by the Social Welfare Department to avoid recurrence of any untoward incident.
