Port Blair, Dec 21: An awareness cum interaction programme was conducted by the members of Police Family Welfare Association under the Chairmanship of Smti. Shiwani Shahi w/o Mr. Sanjay Kumar, IPS, IGP (ACU) A&N Islands on 13/12/18 at 1100 Hrs. at Police Station Aberdeen Conference Hall in presence of Smti. Arti Gupta w/o Mr. Vimal Anand Gupta, IPS, DIGP, A&N Islands, Smti. Usha Rangnani, IPS, SP (AP) and Mr. S.K. Meena, DySP (AP).
The Police Family Welfare Association was formed by Smti. Geeta Pathak w/o Mr. Dependra Pathak, IPS, DGP, A&N Islands on 04/12/18 at Police Line.
The interaction program was actively attended by the families of police personnel living in staff quarters of Aberdeen complex and women staff of PS Aberdeen. During the programme, Smti. Shiwani Shahi, Smti. Arti Gupta and Smti. Usha Rangnani briefed the participants about the objective behind the programme to spread awareness among the police families to avail the benefits extended by the Police Family Welfare Centre (PFWC) like computer classes, tailoring classes, yoga, cooking, dancing & singing classes and tuition classes at Police Line for the benefits of police families and their children. The participants were advised to avail the facilities provided by the department for better future of their wards.
The participants were also encouraged to contribute actively in the activities of PFWC and to comeforth with their talents which can be shared with other members of welfare centre.
About 40 ladies attended the programme who appreciated the initiative taken by the department for providing such types of benefits.
The entire programme was arranged by SI Silpi Singha of PS Aberdeen under the supervision of Mr. Nishant Gupta, DANIPS, DySP (SA).
