Port Blair, Dec 19: The protest, by candidates of Primary School Teacher recruitment, continued in front of Department of Education even today.
Protesting candidates alleged that name of many candidates who have better marks, did not figure in the merit list, while many have low marks managed a place in the list.

Meanwhile, Mr. Bishnu Pada Ray, MP, A&N Islands camped at Delhi discussed the issue with the Chief Secretary and the Director of Education over phone today. Apart from that, the personal staff of MP also met with the Director of Education under the instruction of MP in the evening.
After having discussion, the Director of Education reportedly responded that a committee has been constituted to re-examine the claims and objections presented by the candidates and if any errors are found, the same will be rectified under intimation to the individuals. In regard to unfilled posts are concerned, he reportedly informed that due to non fulfillment of required criteria by the candidates as per vacancy notice, the posts declared unfilled and all the claims/quarries raised by the individuals will be considered carefully and disposed with all details to each individual, a release from MP office said here today.
