Port Blair, Dec 16: To build in scientific temperment among the students and also to expose them on the latest development in R & D activities of Agriculture, the students of IX, X and XII (Commerce Stream) of Government Model Senior Secondary School, Port Blair made a visit to ICAR-CIARI, the multi-disciplinary Institute of ICAR on 12th, 13th and 15th December, 2018 along with their teachers.
They were exposed to Dweep Krishi Darpan depicting the overall activities of the Institute in the field of Natural Resource Management, Horticulture & Forestry, Field Corp Improvement and Protection, Fisheries Science, Animal Science, Social Science, KVKs and ORC; and informed about the career opportunities in agriculture. The students showed lot of enthusium in learning about the Insitute and aspired to take agriculture as the vocation.
A total of 256 students participated and interacted with the team coordinated by Dr. S.K. Zamir Ahmed, Principal Scientist, Dr. R. Jaya Kumaravaradan, Scientist, Mr. Amit Srivastava, STO, alongwith Ms. Rina Saha, Mr. Ali Akbar, & Mr. R. Armugham under the plan and guidance of Dr. A. Kundu, Director, as said by S.K.
