Port Blair, Dec 13: As many as seven people suffered burn injuries after a mild blast in the Bitumen mixing plant of a private contractor this afternoon at Mile Tilak.
According to reports, all these seven people, one Manager and six workers of a private construction company working with NHIDCL, were standing near plant, when suddenly they observed flames coming out from the mixing plant. Soon there was a blast near the door of the mixing plant, which left all seven people seriously injured.
According to reports, all seven people suffered burn injuries over face and hands and they were immediately shifted to PHC Tushnabad, from where they were referred to GB Pant Hospital.
All seven people, Mr. Ramji Lall Meena, 45 years, Mr. Jay Krishen Meena, 45 years, Mr. Kristen Meena, 19 years, Mr. Mandeep Singh, 24 years, Mr. Ranjeet 30 years, Mr. Neeraj Takur, 19 years and Mr. Saurabh Thakur, (Manager) 21 years, have been put under observation at G B Pant Hospital it is learnt. Meanwhile a case has been registered against the management and further investigations are going on in this regard.
