Port Blair, Dec12: The General Body of Govt Motor Transport Drivers’ Union called for a strike on 14th Dec to press their demands. The bus driver, Conductor and workshop staff etc working under Directorate of Transport will participate in this strike. Their main demands are regularization of the services of DRM and contractual staff, Deduct in EPF contribution from the wages of the DRMs and remit the same to the EPF Organization along with the Contribution of the employer, settlement of 1/30th pay arrears and immediate implementation of the Hon’ble Court’s order vide WPCT 211.
