Port Blair, Dec 07: Saraswati Shishu Mandir Senior Secondary School (E.M.) Pathergudda, Port Blair under took a cleanliness drive with a spate of activities on 07 December2018, as in accordance to the Katchra Utsav. The school chalked out a plan to organize different events like poster and painting competition on waste to wealth along with football match among the students of Saraswati Shishu Mandir and the alumni of the school. By this match the school conveyed importance of sports and fitness among the present generations. During the morning assembly the principal was enacted the importance of hygiene, sanitation and cleanliness.
The principal, staffs and students actively participated in the cleanliness drive. They enthusiastically took up broom and garbage bags to clean up every nook and corner of the class rooms, corridors, school ground parking lot and nearby areas.
The whole drive was quite inspiring and motivating for the staffs and students. The students realized that any work is best done when it carried out by a person himself. It also made the students aware of the dignity of labour.
