Port Blair, Dec 05: Showing care for the victims of Gaja Cyclone, which devastated parts of Tamil Nadu recently, the Grain Dealers & Grocers Association of Andaman and Nicobar Islands has collected a relief amount of 6 lakhs rupees.
The amount will be transferred to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund, Tamil Nadu.
During a programme organized today at Babu Lane in this regard, the President, Vice President, treasurer, other members and large number of General Merchants were present.
Addressing the gathering, the president PJ Sekar said that this Association is the 2nd biggest Association of A&N Islands and he requested all general merchants to come forward and donate money towards the needy of Gaja Cyclone victims.
He added that the Association has collected Rs 6 lakh in short period and he thanked all who have contributed for the noble cause.
